Dreaming of a Wonderland

                                                      Little Mix Inspired Tutorial

Soooo it's been a long time since I came around... Hellooo!!! I'm back, I promise. (maybe)
For this weeks video I took a crack at yet another Little Mix makeup look crafted by the one and only Adam Burrell. A very talented London based makeup artist who just so happens to have the pleasure of painting the faces of the gorgeous group Little Mix.

A few weeks back I sent Adam an email never really expecting anything of it. It consisted of a beginning, middle, and end and in all my Megan Pickle style was as awkward as ever. You can probably figure out that he did in fact get back to me and the video could continue into production. (by production I mean actually getting off YouTube and filming it.)

I had sent the email in hopes of finding out the exact products the girls were wearing on a recent cover shoot for Wonderland Magazine. Much to my surprise Adam informed me he had used the exact same products on a music video the group had just released and as he usually does with each new music video had listed the products on his instagram. *sidenote I've said it enough but I'll say it again, Adam has to be one of the nicest human beings I have ever spoken to and I highly recommend checking him out

Enough with my jibber jabber and on with the video! Below I have listed the products used by Adam and myself, and I hope you enjoy.

Take Me To Church

This past week I saw one of my new found music loves, and after this show I can confidently say he will be staying on my playlist for...ever? Hozier, formally known as Andrew Hozier-Byrne, is an incredibly talented man from Wicklow, Ireland that has captured my attention for the past few months. His self titled album Hozier was released September of last year in Ireland, and globally in October.

He is most commonly known for his breakthrough single 'Take Me to Church', but I promise you there is SO much more that hides behind the smash hit. I didn't find a single song that made me reach for that skip button...and that is always a good sign.

Seeing that I upload every Saturday I decided to film a little "Get Ready With Me". I kept it pretty simple seeing as shows can get pretty steamy when 1000+ people are crammed into a small area to listen to incredibly talented people pour their souls out on stage.

Hozier's talent is for the lack of a better word INCREDIBLE!!! I found myself in awe watching him sing his heart out to the sold out crowd. A couple standing next to me even made the remark that he, in the full 90 minute set, hadn't had a single mess up. Not that I ever go to shows just waiting for the moment they mess up, buuuuut when the fact was brought to my attention it solidified my love for him even more. I HIGHLY recommend checking out the album and if you ever get the chance seeing him in person. It's a decision I don't think anyone could ever regret.

Check out the video and let me know down below who has thoroughly impressed you at a gig!

There's A River High In The Mountains

Ten points if you got that Roseanne reference.

Manic Monday Update: One of my absolute best friends turned the big 21 this past weekend and what better way to celebrate than at a winery. We were literally blessed with gorgeous 60+ degree weather, and can we talk about the view?! It was my first time ever going to a winery and I have to say I had a good time. We drank wine, ate a meatza pizza, and watched the majestic bald eagles soar into the sun filled sky. It was such a pleasant and unexpected change of pace for the usual overcast February day.

....Did I mention we went to a casino afterword? I spent $3 and walked away with a whole nine cents left. Womp, womp.

Hope all is well with you, hope your week turns out to be a fantastic one, all the love.

The One Where I Go To A Party

As Fergie so eloquently said "A litle party never killed nobody", and surprise parties are no exception. If anything, surprise parties are an even bigger reason to party. Recently my cousin celebrated the big 5-0 and I took the opportunity to film a quick get ready video.

I'm a really big fan of this style video and always have a blast going through my blooper segments. I truly think they are what make my videos. I hope you enjoy watching it and don't forget to head over to my main channel to check out my other videos. Let me know what your favorite party looks are in the comments- I'd love to know and maybe take suggestions for future vidayoos!

Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself

What better way to start off my first ever blog post than with an introduction? Any suggestions?....no? Then lets get on with it.

My real name isn't MissLoveLately. Shocker I know. My actual name is Megan Pickle...yes, Pickle. I promise, it's on all my legal documents and everything.

Now that we've gone through all the fomalities lets get to the gritty stuff. I live with the love of my life, and I know what you're thinking...it's not Harry Styles. As much as I'm sure me and every other woman, teen, and prebuscent with eyes wishes it were true, it sadly is not. sighhh. But I'm a survior, I'll be okay...now what was I on about? Ahhh yes, the love of my life Nonna Ragan. The 60 year old Italian spit fire who I have adored since I opened my eyes a chilly September evening. We live in a nice, not so spacious two bedroom home right outside of St. Louis. Not the most exoctic of locations but it's home.

The absolute, must know facts about me are as but not limited to the following: I am the Chandler of my inner circle. Yes, the one and only Chandler Bing. Witty, sarcastic, extreeeemely bad joke telling Chandler Bing from Friends. Can you tell what my favorite show is? My favorite color is black. I could truly live off bananas...that potassium filled fruit has stolen my heart. I am makeup obsessed, and a freelance hair artist with a love/specialty in mens grooming. I make YouTube videos. Who doesn't these days?!?  I don't have a favorite Disney princess. Cue the gasps...I know, I know, how dare I. Have I forgotten anything? Ahh yes, I, Megan Pickle, a 21 year old woman have lost my heart to One Direction. And I say it proudly. I've never been one to hide my latest obsessions, loves, or lusts, and this band is no exception. (insert heart eyed emojis for days...)

So there you have it. The basic of basics about the girl behind the blog.

Any questions? No? Great, now strap in kids, you're in for a wild ride.

Not really, my life is as ordinary as ordinary gets but it's my story, and I love it.

Spit Fire Nonna at her best.
